This off leash dog park is on the south side of I-70, as you exit I-70 on 24 Road, go south through the round-about and take your first left into the park. The people park is huge, has lots of fenced and lighted baseball fields, lakes, a covered group picnic area, playgrounds and walkways where dogs must be on leash. Go all the way to the left (north towards the highway) in the parking lots. The off-leash dog areas are fenced in with no shade. There is a small pond that makes for a muddy playtime when there is water in it (seasonal). They have double gates so that dogs don't get out when you enter. The fenced areas are hard, dry ground with a few short weeds. They are not nice, green, grassy lawns like the baseball fields and the rest of the park ($ was spared here when they were built). There is a specific area for little dogs, and another area for larger dogs. There is a rule that no children under 12 are allowed in the dog pens, period.

Sherwood Park off of N 1st Street and E. North is much nicer, has shade and lots of manicured green grass, playground and street parking all the way around the park. (warning - if there are people around you might not be able to have your dog off-leash) |
